It was hundreds of years ago that the human race died with the push of a button; nuclear war threw the earth into a shamble of ruins from an ancient and greedy culture. Everything is silent in an everlasting mourn, with only an occasional breeze to howl through the crumbling skyscrapers and ashen houses that once marked a powerful rule. But now, those who lived have come out of hiding to face the world. Strange felines blessed by the desperate need to survive, and given mysterious and amazing talents. Perhaps it was the radiation or the fumes from the long-ago wars that gave these cats powers only told of in fairy-tales. And now, finally coming forth to face the world, they will be put to the test with the many challenges that surely lay in wait.
Welcome to Dawn's Break, a time after our own where cats with the strange powers of the elements roam the earth. Create your very own cat, give it a talent, and join the Nation of your choosing! With so much to do to create a new world, who knows what the future will bring?
Plot
Centuries after the mythical human race destroyed itself and the earth with their powerful missiles, signs of life are finally beginning to return. Dormant plants are begining to bud under the promise of a new spring, and small creatures are venturing forth from their family homes, hiding no longer. It is a new era, and a new beginning for all life.
But even now, after so many years, aftereffects of the nuclear war still fall heavy across the burdened planet. Pollution has dilluted itself but still fogs thickly over the atmosphere above. Waste can be found all over the cities and countrysides. Even the radiation has yet to fade away, meaning that the cats' lives may still be at stake; the reason they were in hiding for so long in the first place. Before anyone can truly flourish in this new world, something must be done to make it a little better. After all, someone must clean up the many mistakes made by the careless humans. What can be done?

Here is the place where the Breeze Runners reside. Their safe ground is nestled in a wide field, the breadth of the field seemingly stretching on until it touches the horizon. They have made a deep imprint into the ground so that golden grass rising up around it on all sides, hiding it from view.
Air-wielding cats are often the carefree, optomistic, open-minded, and playful. They possess the talent of incredible speed, and can be outrun by no other.
This is where the extraordinary mountains, beautiful seas, tunrda, islands, and plains of Asia lay. Any cat may roam here, of any element; although needless to say, any besides air will not be welcomed too warmly into the Breeze Runner Nation.
Here, in the heart of "the land down under", is where the Silent Walkers make their home. They make their camps in the rocky center of Australia, among the strange rock formations and simply earthen landscape. Caves and crevices growing naturally in the stone marks their homes, well-protected from the outside dangers.
Earth-wielding cats are usually quite skeptical, steadfast, stubborn, and rather blunt in their speech. These elementals are strikingly well-built and powerful, the strongest ones of their kin.
Here in the rest of Australia rest the towering rainforests, dry plains, lovely beaches, and awe-inspiring coral reefs. These are lands that any elemental cat may roam. As long as they do not strive to constantly pester the Silent Walkers, of course.
Far south in the cold and barren south pole is where the Storm Callers live. Their Nation is spread out into nomadic tribes that migrate across the frozen tundra. The cats are nearly incapable of freezing to death because of temperature regulators inside them, so the water-abundant area is perfect for them.
Water-wielding cats are for the most part calm cool and collected, free-flowing, wise, philosophical, and intuitive. Their fur is traditionally long to protect against their harsh envoirnment, but underneath they're quite agile and graceful.
Although such a continent as Antarctica seems to be barren and unchanging in landscape, one must not forest the graceful glaciers, frozen bays, and mountainous ranges of snow and rock that exist here. Many cats who are not water elementals cannot stand the extreme cold, but a few have adapted and choose to live here nomadically. Although, of course, they must be wary of the Storm Caller tribes that already reside.
Here is the lands claimed by the Ember Dancers. The majority of them make their homes in the heart of the Sahara Desert, where the Earth is at its hottest. These cats also have an internal regulator that keeps them from ever growing too warm, meaning that the climate suits them well. Burrowing deep into the rock and sand, a network of dens and walkways have been made for them to reside in.
Fire-wielders are ordinarily hostile, ambitious, wary, headstrong, and even hasty at times. They are aso well muscled, although not nearly as much so as earthen cats, and are very large in size. This makes them quite intimidating to anyone who comes across them.
The Sahara Desert is possibly the most well-known of Africa's places. But there are also so many other things here; warm rainforests, majestic oasises, alluring mountains, and the streatching plains. Many cats who exist seperate from the Ember Dancer Nation live happy lives here. Of course, if one is caught trespassing by one of the Nation, there's not much good to be said about it.
This clan consists of loners and rogues that have come together. They come in every element, pelt color, and personality. Some are here because they were banished for evil deeds, while some just didn't specialize in an element and are useless. They reside in a series of tunnels that wind under a scrubby desert area.
They only come out to hunt at night in fear of wild creatures. This Clan needs a strong leader to hold the mixed ranks together, because without one the Clan will perish and outlawed cats will have no place to call home.
It is the rainforests that alone cover the most of South America, but that doesn't mean there's no more to it than that. Grasslands, deserts, savannahs, and even mountains can be found in the diversity of such a place. As long, of course, that not too much ruckus for the nearby Clan.
From the clan's names you might assume that they are stupid. But in fact these cats are highly intelligent. They live in a foggy bog where the humans use to call Louisiana. Their pelts range from white to murky grey or perhaps the occasional brown tabby. Their eyes are all shades but usually a pastel of those colors, none are much to bright. Their pelts are short and their bodies are lean much like that of a Breeze Runners.
Personality wise these cats are snappy and not very friendly to anyone outside the clan. They have their own beliefs and anyone who tells them differently is morbidly wrong. They cannot be swayed once they make a decision on something. They are very hostile and take the saying "an arm for a leg" very seriously. These cats mostly bend water but there is the occasional Silent Walker among their ranks.
This particular continent was clearly one that the human race once cherished greatly, for giant monuments and broken buildings span fron countryside. Apart from that, of course, are the simple yet lovely landscapes of the large region. A diversity of forests, grasslands, and tundra. And as long as the nearby Clan isn't too deeply annoyed by the loner cats around, there's all sorts of things to do here.
Welcome to a clan that reaks of disoder and mistrust, of blood and tears. Here you will find a group of evil, cunning cats that are only out to make the lives of others miserable. They are out to kill, steal, and do whatever they feel like.
Their pelts are mostly dark browns or black and range from long to short. Their eyes are also dark colors and not very bright and vibrant. They are vicious and ruthless in personality and tend to stick to themselves. They live in a dark outcrop of rock in the Transelvanian mountains, a slick, dark cave that rarely sees light. They are mostly Fire benders and Earth benders here but occasionally you will find a water or air bender with them.
Europe, easily the smallest continent of them all, seems as if there isn't much to offer cats who travel there. However, that is certainly not true. This is another area clearly favored by the ancient human race, meaning that old cities and artifacts lay everywhere. Plus the boreal and temperate forests, woodland, and shrubland that can be found here. And as long as the less than friendly Clan nearby don't catch you snooping, the region is quite an interesting one to see.
